Community Content — Not Legal Advice

Brits in Argentina is a community editorial publication. Our articles cover lifestyle, neighbourhoods, restaurants, playgrounds, school runs, doctor's appointments, Subte routes, Sunday asados, and the general texture of British life in Buenos Aires. That is the lane we stay in, and it is a long way from anything that could be treated as personal legal, tax, immigration, or investment advice.

When an article mentions how a visa category works in broad terms, or how rental contracts are typically structured, or how Argentine tax residency is framed, that is context for general reading — not a substitute for proper professional input on your actual situation. If you are about to make a decision that moves real money or real paperwork, please treat our articles as background, not as instructions.

Professional Review

There are specific moments when you should stop reading blog posts and pick up the phone to a qualified professional. Visa applications and residency renewals belong with an immigration lawyer who files with Migraciones every week. Property purchases and boleto de compraventa contracts belong with an escribano público. Tax filings that cross between HMRC and AFIP belong with an accountant experienced in the UK-Argentina relationship, particularly if you are juggling pension income, rental income, or capital gains across both jurisdictions.

None of our articles should be relied on as a substitute for that kind of case-specific advice. We flag professional-review moments inside the relevant articles where it matters, and we will always err on the side of pointing you toward a professional when the decision has teeth.

Accuracy

Our articles reflect the current experiences and knowledge of the British expat community in Buenos Aires. Because prices, regulations, and neighbourhood conditions change constantly in Argentina, we revisit our most-read articles every quarter at minimum and anything price-sensitive more often than that. The last-updated date on each article tells you when it was most recently checked against current conditions.

If you spot something that is out of date, wrong, or has changed since we last verified it, we want to know. Community corrections are welcomed — that is how we keep the site honest, and it is how we live with the consequences of our own recommendations. Corrections are made to the article in place, with a note where the change is material.

External Links

This site links to external resources including restaurants, bakeries, butchers, bilingual schools, clinics, hospitals, parks, cultural venues, the FCDO, Argentine government agencies, and professional services. None of those links are sponsored, none are paid placements, and none are routed through an affiliate network that pays us a commission. They are editorial references, included because we think they help the article make its point.

Content Ownership & Attribution

All original content on this site is copyright Brits in Argentina. You are welcome to quote short passages in your own writing, academic work, or newsletters provided you name the site and link back to the specific article you are quoting. Substantial reproduction — whole articles, large sections, or republication in another publication — is not permitted without written permission. If you would like to republish something, get in touch and we will usually say yes, with a byline and a link.
